Hey guys! I already told you that I'm writing a new book called "The Dive" I am not posting the whole chapter on here but what I have so far and also the description of the book. And also next week I am planning on posting my short story book called "Sea Girl" if you are interested in reading it before anyone else please send me an email and I will send you all of the rough drafts because I am not yet finished editing. Well anyways on to my story here is what I have so far.
Part 1
The light of my bed side lamp was shining brightly on my flower printed bed sheets as I was watching the moonlight reflect on the calm paper flat ocean, I love watching the ocean, not really swimming in it. It may seem shy and calm but soon eventually it turns out very deadly. Actually everything seems deadly to me ever since my best friend died, which was about six years ago, I can remember everything.
It was a warm summer day, actually just like this morning and me and my best friend Saphire, were going to go swimming, I could even remember my mom's name calling "Demetri, Demetri put on some sunscreen you're going to get a sunburn just like you're father!" I was really mad at her that day because she kept on telling me to put on sunscreen and but now I really regret it, because of her work she had to move to China and because of passport problems I can't go so now I'm living with my grandparents which really isn't a problem because we live right next to the guy I've been crushing on for the last three years named Greyson. Well anyways back to the subject, before me and Saphire went swimming my mom told us that we shouldn't go far because the current can take us very far and it would be really dangerous. I didn't listen to her at all so we just went ahead swimming to where ever we wanted to go. We were playing water tag and leapfrog when a huge wave took us and banged us on a huge rock laying in the middle of the ocean, first I didn't see Saphire at all, so I was worried the wave took her and carried her somewhere else when I noticed that she was lying face down flat on the water, I thought she was joking so I started tickling her but she didn't respond, so I started crying and I carried her and put her on top of the rock, earlier I took a rescue breathing course so I started doing mouth the mouth on her but still no response so I just lay there waiting for a person to just come and help. By morning I found myself in a hospital room, I was really scared when I didn't see anyone then finally I saw my mom coming in, I wanted to jump up and give her a hug but the wires and tubes were pulling me down so I just decided to ly down, but this didn't stop her from giving me a hug, and suddenly tears started running down her eyes like raindrops on a window. I asked her how Saphire was doing and she told me that she banged her head on the rock that she had severe brain damage and then when she tried to swim back to shore she couldn't swim so she drowned and when the doctors and paramedics came it was too late... I was furious at myself for not listening, we should of just collected seashells but there was nothing left to do now. Several months passed and I still couldn't even bare to look at the ocean, but after about 5 years later my mom told me to live with my grandparents to get use to the ocean because their house was right infront of it and our house was more in the city. Then later on she got a call from her work and they told her to go to China for the new opening of their company so here I am living with my grandparents, its been almost a year now and Im quite happy except for the fact that Im such a loner at school.
In the morning I find myself clutching the picture of Saphire in my hand and lying down on the floor. I can hear my grandmother calling my name "Demetri, breakfasts ready!"
